The first time you use EasyShare software you can create a collection that includes all the pictures located in the My Pictures and Kodak Pictures folders on your hard disk. This catalog file contains a thumbnail of each picture and the path to where the picture is stored on your hard disk. After the collection is created, it is displayed in Thumbnails view in My Collection.
When you close EasyShare software, a backup catalog is created. If EasyShare software detects a problem when you start the software, your backup catalog is used to display your collection. All the pictures in your collection are available, but some information (such as picture captions and albums) may be lost.
IMPORTANT: Your pictures are not moved or copied from their original folders. The catalog contains a pointer to the original pictures.
You can add pictures to your collection by
u Transferring pictures from a connected device (such as a digital camera, camera dock, printer dock, or card reader)
u Inserting a KODAK Picture CD or other disc containing pictures into the CD-ROM drive
u Clicking Add Pictures on the My Collection toolbar
